Who We are
We build, restore, renovate and design homes. Remnant Homes is a Wheaton, Illinois based company founded by Grant and Lisa Gibbons in 2018. Grant has been building and renovating homes in the area with his own company since 2009, previously as G Gibbons Inc., and some projects shown are from this season.
What We Do
At Remnant Homes we build beautiful homes with quality craftsmanship that will last for generations. We believe all house projects need to start with functional, beautiful design and require quality craftsmanship to bring it to fruition! We believe in the importance of collaborating with our clients to come up with solutions that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. We work hard to stay on schedule and within budget without compromising on quality. Whether you are building a new home, renovating, or simply need help with design, we would love to talk with you about your project.
OUR STORY
Grant is a second generation builder from California. In 2000 he moved to Wheaton to attend Wheaton College, where he met Lisa, and graduated with a degree in Mathematics, while Lisa studied Art and Spanish. After graduating and getting married, Grant began his own company renovating homes. Over the following years he had unique opportunities, including restoring a local historic home, building new construction, and renovating countless variety of spaces. All the while as a growing family, Grant and Lisa have personally renovating the four homes they were living in.
Then in 2014, Grant and Lisa moved back to California to be closer to Grant’s family where he worked for his fathers company and built more than 70 homes in 3 years.
Now back in the area Grant and Lisa are raising their 5 children and have launched Remnant Homes. Remnant is by definition, a surviving trace; remaining. All homes are not just the new beginnings or renovations made, but instead are individual threads of the story of that family, house or even the land where it is built. The desire of Remnant Homes is to take that remnant thread and weave it into the new story, the new construction, or new renovation, with beautiful design and craftsmanship so that it feels like home and is a welcoming beginning to a new chapter!
