A mid-century house was brought back to modern simplicity by highlighting the existing character, incorporating custom built-ins, and adding contemporary touches to a create modern, simple living space.

 
 

 

This unique project was a historic home built in 1838 that was given new life with a historically accurate two thousand square ft. addition and renovation. The character and history unfolds in both the old and new areas through the carefully chosen and executed details, from the trim, doors, and cabinetry, to the lighting, wallpaper, and paint and everything in between.

This new construction is reminiscent of the French country style, including an imported European Atrium that creates light throughout the first floor. While being new construction, it evokes timeless character and charm through the textures, colors, and details throughout.

The focus of the renovation of a Modern Farmhouse is to retain the original character, as well as pieces of the various renovations through the decades, while also updating its function for modern times.
